Meet Chase – Our Big, Bouncy Boy Looking for a Fresh Start
Everyone say hello to Chase – our affectionate, playful 2-year-old Cane Corso cross with a big heart (and an even bigger body, tipping the scales at over 35kg!).
Despite his size, Chase is very much a puppy at heart. He adores getting out of his kennel for a good run around the paddock or sensory garden, and he loves exploring new places on offsite walks. Once that initial excitement settles, Chase walks nicely on the lead and is always curious about his surroundings, taking everything in with a wagging tail and bright eyes.
Chase is a social boy who enjoys the company of other dogs. At the centre, he’s played well with a similarly sized female, and we think he could possibly live with a compatible female dog in his new home (with the right introductions). Cats, however, are a no-go for this guy.
Chase can be a little unsure when faced with new environments or unfamiliar sights and sounds. He tends to pause, watch, and take things in – showing his thoughtful, inquisitive nature. He’s food-motivated and toy-obsessed, which makes him a great candidate for ongoing reward-based training. He already knows some basic commands and enjoys short bursts of learning, especially when it’s mixed in with playtime.
Having spent little time in a home environment, Chase will need support adjusting to domestic life – including toilet training and establishing a routine. He’s looking for an active household that can offer him plenty of exercise, stimulation, and continued guidance to help him thrive.
Due to his size, strength, and training needs, Chase is best suited to adopters with large breed experience and the ability to confidently handle a strong dog on lead. He could live with dog-savvy children aged 16+ and would do best in a home that understands the needs of big, bouncy boys like him!
