Southport, Ormskirk & District Animal Centre
Our Animal Centre, in New Cut Lane, on the Birkdale / Halsall border, covers Southport, Ormskirk and the surrounding areas as far south as Maghull. The Centre takes in, cares for, supports and helps rehabilitate cats & dogs that have been rescued from cruelty & neglect by the national RSPCA; whilst we find them new and forever homes.

Southport, Ormskirk & District Branch is a separately Registered Charity to the National RSPCA, which is completely reliant upon donations, legacies and monies raised through its Charity Shop, together with the public’s generous support of our locally run fundraising events. We aim to support the national RSPCA through our rehoming work and by promoting its animal welfare objectives.
Please view our Amazon wish list to view items that we are mostly in need off, Our amazing reception team update this regularly.
We greatly appreciate all gifts sent to the Centre!
You will find suggested items on our wish list but please feel free to send other items which you feel would be suitable.
Thank you for your support!
Here at the Animal Centre we are open to the general public by appointment only. Please be aware, we do not allow walk arounds of our cattery & Kennels.
All available cats & dogs can be found via our adoption page or on our social media pages. To apply your interest for any cat or dog we ask that you apply by completing a Perfect Match application form. The application & details on the rehoming process can be found on the Adoption Page.
Our Animal Centre is operational 365 days of the year and cares for cats and dogs. The monthly subscription to 'Safe Haven' an animal is from as little as £5.00 for a cat and £10 for a dog. You will receive a 'Safe Haven' Certificate, a copy of any newsletter and updates of our fund-raising events. Plus you will have the pleasure of knowing that you are doing something practical to help.
To report animal cruelty or neglect, please call the National RSPCA on 0300 1234 999 (8am to 7:30pm). Please do not call our Centre as we do not have any inspectors who are based at our site.
If you have found a stray dog, please contact your local authority's dog warden service. It is required by law to report all stray dogs to the local authority.
If you have found an injured stray cat or wild animal, please call your local vet for advice.

There are a number of ways in which you can help the animals in our care. You can send them toys and food parcels via our Amazon Wish List. You can also send a donation via Just Giving if you are a UK tax payer please make sure that Gift Aid is added. This means that an extra 25% of your donation will be added by H.M. Govt. from the taxes you have already paid. This has no extra cost for yourself.
