This is Peach, our 5 year old tortoiseshell girl who is just looking for someone who will give her a chance at a new lease of life. She is currently our longest stay cat, waiting patiently to find a family!
Peach was previously a stray, so she needs to be given some grace and understanding that it may take her a little while to settle into a home environment, however she is a sweetheart deep down and we are sure with a little time and patience, she will come onto her own.
Peach prefers playing and treats over affection currently, and she becomes comfortable with those that she knows after a few introductions. She goes a bit (very) crazy for her toys, especially cat wands and her beloved catnip! This, and treats, are definitely the key to bonding, and the key straight to her heart!
Often in the cattery Peach will be scratching at her door demanding some attention, catnip... or snacks!
Peach can be a proper softy when she is in the mood for attention. She will enjoy lots of strokes down her body and will often be so content that she starts gently purring away.
Peach may never be a lap cat – she can be an independent girl. She needs a family who will understand her body language, as she always politely lets you know when she is done with the attention. This is often done by avoiding your hand when reaching out to stroke her, walking away or slightly raising her paw to let you know she is done - thank you!
Peach is always overlooked here in our cattery and we cannot understand why, she is full of character and a joy to be around. We can only hope and pray that her future family is just around the corner as she is so deserving of a life outside of our cattery.
We believe that Peach could be rehomed with children around the age of 8. She needs to be in a home where people are cat-savvy and can read cat's body language well and will understand that she may be more independent in the home than a lot of other cats may be.
She also needs to be the only pet in the home.
