Meet Alfie 🐶
Alfie is our 13 weeks old, Belgian Malinois cross, and already taking his role as “Professional Best Friend” very seriously.
This handsome, athletic young man has been winning hearts at the Centre with his friendly, affectionate nature and his clear love of human company. Alfie doesn’t just like people – he bonds with them quickly and happily makes himself your shadow. He can be a little vocal at times (he does have important puppy opinions to share!), but it’s all part of his charming, expressive personality.
Alfie walks beautifully on the lead for such a young pup and approaches the outside world with confidence and curiosity. New sights, new smells, new adventures? He’s ready. Having come from a family home where he lived with his female sibling and his parents, Alfie is used to canine company and is friendly and respectful when meeting other dogs. He could happily share his future home with another well-matched dog.
What to expect from the Malinois Magic ✨
As a Belgian Malinois cross, Alfie is highly intelligent, athletic, and already showing the traits his breed is famous for. He is a quick learner with a strong desire to work alongside his person. Malinois are not couch potatoes – they are thinkers, doers, and go-getters. Alfie will thrive in a home experienced with high-drive, energetic breeds, where he’ll be actively engaged both mentally and physically. Long walks, structured training, enrichment games, and plenty of side-by-side activity will make him one very happy boy.
He will need lots of company and is not suited to being left for long periods, he will need to be taught to be left alone and it will need to be built up over time. For a Malinois, exercise and human companionship aren’t optional extras – they’re essential. To keep Alfie fulfilled is to include him in your life, your routines, and your adventures.
Like many herding breeds, Alfie may develop a strong interest in movement – whether that’s running children, wildlife, or passing vehicles. With early socialisation and positive, consistent training, this natural instinct can be channeled into appropriate outlets such as training exercises, scent work, agility, or other dog sports. He will need firm but kind guidance as he grows, along with continued exposure to the world to help him mature into a well-rounded adult.
In the right home – one that understands his drive, embraces his energy, and welcomes a clever, affectionate dog into the heart of family life – Alfie won’t just be a pet. He’ll be a partner.
Compatibility 😊
Alfie isn’t the kind of puppy for first time dog owners. We’re looking for a home that has experience of owning a herding breed. Alfie could live with children of any age, friendly compatible dogs but would not be suitable to live with a cat.
