Meet Mickey, our beautiful 5 year old FIV+ boy who is looking for an indoor only home to cater for his every need!
Mickey arrived in our care a bit banged up after living on the streets. He has had a front leg amputation, leaving him with 3 legs. He is quite agile and mobile however he will need an accessible, comfortable home that allows him to move around with ease.
Mickey will need to be an only cat for his entire life, and he is not allowed to go outdoors due to his FIV+ prognosis. FIV means that a cat is immune compromised, and FIV can be spread through cat fighting, which means if he were to go outside he could spread it to other cats in a neighbourhood. He also may come into contact with some complications if he were let out, due to his mobility issues.
Even though Mickey has been through a lot, he is the biggest sweetheart! He adores human company, will come over to greet you instantly, and won’t stop head butting your hand for more attention. He has not let his time on the streets affect his charming personality. He is going to be a great companion for a lucky family!
Mickey is currently not a big fan of being picked up. He is a bit sensitive under his stomach and around his stump area, so picking him up should be avoided until he is more settled. Any children in a household should be made aware of this!
