Dogs for Adoption

We’ve got a variety of dogs, waiting for their happy ever after.

Meet them below.

POLO

We’d like everyone to meet our lovely Polo!

Polo is our 5 year old large crossbreed deaf dog who came to us when the owners were no longer able to care for her. She arrived with a 1 week old puppy who has since been adopted. Polo is now on the search for a forever home of her own.

Polo gets on well with other dogs and likes to go out walking nicely on her lead with other dogs from the centre. Because of her deafness, Polo has been learning different hand signals for different commands, which the staff at the centre have been working with her to practice.

Staff from the centre have described Polo as ‘kind’ and are really looking forward to her finding a family who will be able to take the time to understand and work with her to get her to her full potential. We’d really like Polo’s future adopters/fosterers to have experience with large breeds and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of a deaf dog.

We feel Polo can be rehomed with 16+ children but no other pets.

Polo has a lot of potential for the right people and if you would like to find out more about Polo and what she needs in a home then please do not hesitate to get in contact with our Foster Coordinator on 07469 760975 or email a perfect match form in to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

TUESDAY

ON TEMP HOLD

Meet Tuesday! Our very sweet 7-month old crossbreed who is now ready to find her forever family.

Tuesday is a friendly pup who enjoys affection, likes meeting new people and loves food!

She can lack in confidence, especially when out and about, and when she can see her harness and lead, although this is improving.

Tuesday is vision impaired in her left eye which needs to be monitored however, this isn’t causing any problems and doesn’t require any treatment currently.

As she is young and has missed out on her earlier socialisation, new owners would need to continue her positive reward based training, to include toilet training.

She settles being left for short periods, she is getting more used to being groomed, (her nails being cut and her face hair being trimmed), and she travels well in the car.

Tuesday can be rehomed with other friendly dogs who are used to small dogs or are small themselves, possibly a dog-savvy cat and children of secondary school age.

If you can offer Tuesday the home she deserves, please send over a completed perfect match form to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

Bruce

TJ

Say hello to Bruce! Our sweet and energetic 6 year old Terrier crossbreed who is now looking for his forever family!

Bruce is a friendly boy who enjoys company, interaction and is full of personality. He loves running and playing with his toys, especially balls. He also enjoys his walks and walks lovely on the lead.

He knows basic commands and is receptive to further positive reward based training. He will require regular grooming, although this will need to be done slowly and positively, without any pressure on him as he can be a little unsure and worried in certain situations. He will also need regular exercise and mental stimulation.

Bruce needs a a patient home with owners who are used to the terrier breed and understands their behaviour and traits. He needs an adult only home with no other animals.

If you can offer Bruce the home he deserves, please send a completed 'Perfect Match Form' to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

Meet TJ, our 10-year-old male staffy cross who is now searching for a home to call his own this Christmas!

We have found TJ to be a super sweet friendly older boy who craves human company and attention. Despite his age, TJ is an active boy who enjoys going out for walks.

We have found that TJ knows basic commands and is overall a gentle polite boy.

TJ is looking for a dog free home where he will get all the attention and love just for him. We feel he could live with older children 14+, and possibly live with a dog savvy cat.

TJ doesn’t like to be left alone for long periods, he needs a home with people who will be around for him.

If you can offer TJ a cuddly arm and a spot on the sofa please apply by sending in a perfect match form to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

RAINBOW PUPS

ALL ON TEMP HOLD

Everyone say their happiest hellos to our rainbow pups!

Red (F), Orange (M) and Purple (F) are 8 weeks old, and ready to have some fun in their new forever homes. They are your typical puppies, full of boundless energy and love to give. As they are so young, they will require socialising and training in all aspects of their life. Here at the centre, we feel that these pups could maybe live with another dog and/ or a cat. We feel that they could be rehomed with children of primary school age or older.

We do not know who the parents were to these pups, so we are unable to accurately assume how big they will get as they grow up. Please consider this before applying for one of these cuties!

To apply for one of these beautiful babies, please fill out a perfect match form and send it back to us on our email info@rspcasouthport.co.uk and we will be in touch if you are successful!

TITAN

Meet our very own BFG (big friendly giant), with a heart of gold and tricks to show!

Titan is a 5-year-old mastiff cross and even though he is an enthusiastic boy, he is as gentle as they come. He loves attention from people, leaning into you for a fuss or scratch. He also really enjoys showing off his intelligence with how well he knows his basic commands, especially if there’s a treat involved! Titan is an active boy, enjoying a run around in the paddocks or going on a walk out and about. Titan is halti trained, and walks wonderfully with it on, enjoying exploring his walk.

We feel that Titan would benefit from a home with someone who is familiar with large/ mastiff breeds, as well as aware of how strong the breed can be. Titan would also benefit from someone who would be able to offer consistent training and support, to let him keep being the gentle giant with wonderful manners that he is.

Titan is looking for a home where he is the only pet, and he could live with dog savvy children 16+

If you are interested in offering your sofa to Titan, please fill out a perfect match form and send it to the reception team on info@rspcasouthport.co.uk and we will we contact you if you are successful!

DONALD

Meet Donald: Your New Best Friend

Donald is a 10-year-old cat with a heart of gold—he’s just a little shy at first! When he arrived at the rescue, he was more of a bed lounger than a social butterfly, but after some TLC, he’s come out of his shell and is ready to find his forever home. Once Donald feels comfy, he’s all about the snuggles and will happily purr and rub against you for attention.

He’s not a fan of other pets and prefers to be the star of the show, so he’d love a home where there is no other cats or dogs. He can live with older kids of secondary school age who are calm and understand that he needs time to warm up.

Donald loves his food (a little too much!), so he’s on a healthy eating plan to help him shed a few extra pounds. He’s not big on being picked up and is starting to enjoy play but this must be done calmly otherwise he can get spooked, but he’ll be your laid-back, cuddly buddy once he’s comfortable.

If you're looking for a sweet, quiet companion who’ll show his love in his own time, Donald might be the perfect fit! Reach out with a completed perfect match form to meet this lovable guy!

TOAST

RESERVED

Meet Toast – Your Perfect Blend of Sweetness and Sass!

Say hello to Toast, a confident, affectionate, and playful tortie ready to find her forever home. Having raised her kittens, who are now in loving homes, it’s Toast’s time to shine. She’s a lap-loving cuddlebug with a playful streak, bringing a mix of charm and energy with her sassy tortoiseshell personality. Whether she’s perching on your shoulder, batting at toys, or exploring her environment, she keeps life interesting.

Toast would thrive in a home that respects her boundaries and quirky personality. She’d do best with cat-savvy children (secondary school age or older) and could live with a friendly, laid-back dog. While she enjoys human company, she should be rehomed as the only cat for now, with any future introductions to other pets being slow and carefully managed.

Toast is a perfect blend of affection and independence, ready to bring love, laughter, and a bit of sass to her new family. Could you give her the loving home she deserves? Contact us to learn more or to meet this amazing girl!
